Wedding Albums

Well, Michael and I have been married for 14 months now and I’m just getting around to putting together a photo book. Although, if you factor in that we didn’t get the photos until about 6 months after the wedding, I guess I’m really not so far behind after all.

I’m actually planning on creating two different albums – one with all the professional photos and one with all the photos that friends and family took. (And I’m going to put together a small book with the photos from my 3-year-old niece.)

How many wedding albums do you have? How long did it take you to put them together?

a bouquet of roses

As I mentioned earlier, I spent last weekend in Oregon to see a friend who was getting married. While I was there, I made the bouquets, boutonnieres, and corsages for the wedding. Unfortunately, my camera battery charger didn’t make it on the trip with me, but I was able to borrow a photo from the reception photographer to share here.

The wedding colors were red, black, and white, and the bride chose red roses and red and deep purple (the closest she could find to black) miniature calla lilies for her bouquet. So I arranged them, cut them to her desired length, and wrapped up the stems with ribbon.

I can’t wait to see the rest of the pictures!

from coast to coast

I got back to Virginia late Sunday night, after spending several days in Oregon for a friends’ wedding. It was nice getting to spend an entire day with her, after not having seen her for two and a half years! I also got to visit with more friends, meet some new ones, and visit the Oregon Coast. Oh, and I spent a good chunk of time making bouquets, boutonnieres, and corsages. Sadly though, I left my camera battery charger in the car, so I wasn’t able to take any pictures. Hopefully someone else got some they’re willing to share!

Needless to say, I didn’t have much time for blogging while I was gone. But I’m home again and ready to get back into the swing of things. To get things rolling again, here are a few tidbits I’ve found around the internet recently:

Day 13 {25 Days of Thanksgiving}

I’m so glad my husband dances. We’re currently taking a dance class together on Friday nights. It’s a basic ballroom course, so we’re not learning anything new, but it’s the first class we’ve taken together and we’re having fun anyway. It’s a chance to dance together someplace other the kitchen (which I also love, but it’s nice to get dressed up and go out to dance), so it’s definitely something to be thankful for. The atmosphere is nice, too, since the class is being taught by a Christian ministry. I know I’m blessed to have a husband who not only loves to dance, but dances well.

Today I’m thankful for a husband who doesn’t mind my frequent off-the-wall questions and wonderings. He usually laughs at how random and bizarre they are, but never makes fun or gets frustrated. (Even when he’s trying to sleep and I’m pondering the thought of someone peeling an orange with their toes. Or I stop singing mid-song to wonder aloud about where Annie, Sam, and Jonah live after the end of Sleepless in Seattle. Seattle? Baltimore? Someplace new to both of them?)

He must have a special kind of patience to live with me.

The Sunday List {August 29, 2010}

  • Holiday with Matthew Mead, a book-azine all about the winter holidays (mostly Christmas, from what I can tell), is ready for press. You can order on their website and your issue will be shipped straight to you in October.
  • I don’t have a pantry, but this armoire-turned-pantry idea looks like a great way to add some storage space in the dining room without having to fudge on design/decor.
  • Amanda of Sweet Bella Bakery made beautiful cookies for us to use as favors at the wedding. Gorgeous (and tasty!) wedding cakes and monogrammed cookies. Mmmm.

I think I may have to try this out whenever my sister, Anna, gets engaged. She has at least 16 pairs of Converse in her closet.

My Man

These are some of my favorite photos of Michael, captured on our wedding day. I do so love my husband. :)
