The Sunday List {November 7, 2010}
- 5 Second Rule is a fabulous food blog I just discovered. Cheryl, the author, posts awesome-looking recipes with gorgeous photos, and absolutely hilarious stories and descriptions. This post is one of my favorites.
- If you like to spend a few minutes every day blog-hopping to enter giveaways, you’ll want to bookmark Tightwad in Utah. Every day these frugal ladies post a list of low-entry giveaways around the web that are ending that day.
- If you like ice cream and sweet bread, then you might want to try making some Ice Cream Bread. I’m going to pick up some self-rising flour next time I see it on sale so that I can try it myself!
{This is a photo I took last summer at Fort McHenry. From now on, each week’s Sunday photo will be one I took that week, instead of one I happened across in my blog-hopping.}
The Sunday List {October 31, 2010}
- The Vintage Pearl creates beautiful hand-stamped jewelry. My sister has one from The Relevant Conference and they’re even prettier in person than they look online.
- These custom stamps from paperfinger would be perfect for dressing up plain stationery or creating your own invitations. I particularly like the address stamps.
- Mmmm . . . I don’t think these homemade “Oreos” will taste like real ones, but they still look delicious – and simple to make.
- I’ll be participating in the 25 Days of Thanksgiving, a blog party to share our blessings. You should participate, too!
The Sunday List {October 17, 2010}
My computer is back, which means so is The Sunday List!
- Take a peek at this gorgeous pâtisserie-inspired table shoot. This would be fabulous for a bridal shower, baby shower, or a ladies’ tea.
- While we’re on the subject of tea, here’s a quick tutorial for making your own sugar “cubes.”
- This zippered case tutorial is very easy to follow, and the case would be perfect for a variety of things, from carrying your cash to your makeup, or your child’s school supplies. It looks like a great project for homemade Christmas presents!
- Mmmmm. These bacon-wrapped potato chunks look tasty. I think they’d taste delicious dipped in ranch dressing, but you may want to try the hot sauce and sour cream combination described in the recipe.
- Marisa at A New Dress a Day took on the challenge of transforming a thrifted piece of clothing into something new to wear – every single day for a year, with just a $1/day budget. Not everything she designs is to my taste, but she does this in the morning before she leaves for work and her creativity is inspiring! Here are some of my favorites: Day 212, Day 253, and Day 291.

- When I was in TJMaxx earlier this week, I saw this edition of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland on clearance for $7.00. I love the picture book format and the gorgeous illustrations. I purchased this copy for myself and have been thoroughly enjoying it. After I get the storage containers I need, I’ll be saving up my Swagbucks for Amazon gift cards to get another copy for my nieces.
- This kitchen makeover from diyideas.com is absolutely beautiful!
- September 25th is Museum Day. Check the listings here to find out if there’s a museum near you offering free admission. Note that the free ticket is only good for two people per household.
- Better Homes and Gardens is holding a “Share the Plaid” photo contest. Submit a photo of yourself with your copy of the BHG Cookbook, along with your favorite memory of using it, then get your friends and family members to vote for you, and you could win two copies of the new plaid cookbook – one to keep and one to share!
- This recipe for Giant Chewy Lemon Sugar Cookies looks delicious. It’s from Big Girls, Small Kitchens, and shared via Design*Sponge.

- I was doing some online window shopping (is that even possible?) at Anthropologie and this dishtowel caught my eye. I’m a sucker for anything with butterflies, and the vintage-y look just adds to its charm.
- These notecards, also from Anthropologie, are $7.95, making them $1/card if you can find them locally and not have to pay for shipping. They would be perfect for sending a “thinking of you” note just to give a friend a smile.
- This apron is printed with cooking times, measurements, and conversions. But the best part is that it’s printed upside-down! All you have to do is pull up the bottom to read it. {Thanks to Baking Bites for the discovery.}
- If you’re curious how the Blackberry got its name, or why the Wii is the Wii, read this fun list of how 10 different technology/software companies got their names (accuracy unknown).

The Sunday List {September 5, 2010}
This post is dreadfully late. And rather short. I blame it on the holiday weekend. Here it is at last.
- The Swingy McBride Tunic and Azure Letizia Dress from Christa Taylor garnered oohs and aahs from me earlier this week.
- Isn’t this old library card catalog-turned-buffet featured on Young House Love just gorgeous!
- Did you see this proposal over at The Bright Side Project? It was so sweet of the BSP ladies to let Matt propose to Lauren through the site.

- Holiday with Matthew Mead, a book-azine all about the winter holidays (mostly Christmas, from what I can tell), is ready for press. You can order on their website and your issue will be shipped straight to you in October.
- I don’t have a pantry, but this armoire-turned-pantry idea looks like a great way to add some storage space in the dining room without having to fudge on design/decor.
- Amanda of Sweet Bella Bakery made beautiful cookies for us to use as favors at the wedding. Gorgeous (and tasty!) wedding cakes and monogrammed cookies. Mmmm.

I think I may have to try this out whenever my sister, Anna, gets engaged. She has at least 16 pairs of Converse in her closet.
