Daddy’s Love
Oh, little boy, my tiny miracle, I love you more than I know how to say. Last night as I was cradling you in my arms, marveling at the wonder of you, I stole a peek at your daddy. He had your baby book open and he was writing a letter to you. I watched him from the dim light of the bedroom as he wrote, and I saw such love on his face. He smiled as he wrote to you. And he cried. Tears of the deepest love and happiness.
He wrote to you of the things he hopes to teach you as you grow. Things of this world, like baseball and meteorology. And things not of this world. Things of God. His love. His mercy. His grace. Because, my little one, we cherish you with all our hearts. But God. God cherishes you with a love so deep, so wide, and so pure, that we can’t imagine the wonder of even just one thread. Revel in that, baby boy. Learn to bask in His presence and His light. Learn to worship at His throne. There is no greater love than His.

Simply put, this is beautiful. Brought tears to my eyes today. Thanks for sharing such a sweet glimpse into your family. Happy Weekend, friend!

My boys certainly do love each other!
Very touching.
Thank you.
Your post was beautiful and touching! To me, it is the greatest thing to read of men showing their tender side. May your family always be blessed with cherishing love.
One of my husband’s qualities that I most love is his ability to show his gentle, tender side. It’s a gift that I hope never to take for granted.
Hi Rebekah,
I love your post and your blog space … beautiful. Glad to connect. I like the idea of your husband’s writing to your son, crafting a keepsake for him to cherish all his life.
Hey, thanks for your comment on my blog. Thought I’d come and see what you’d written too. The baby book is such a lovely idea.
