ink blots
Last week I signed up for an online class. A journaling/sketchbooking class for artists, art lovers, and adventurers. Now, let me just clear something up right now. My drawing stinks. I can barely make a straight line with a ruler and my stick people resemble trees. But I still love to doodle and jot and journal and take notes. So I thought I’d give this a try.
Three weeks of creative assignments and inspiration. I believe it will be both encouraging and inspiring, as well as incredibly challenging. I’m excited!
Today I’m going to dig through my crafting and scrapbooking supplies for a good stash of markers and pens and some “mixed media” goodies and tomorrow when I’m in town I’ll pick up my journal. A blank “canvas” to fill with ideas.
We got an advance assignment already and I’m going to share my answer here, sans journal since I don’t have it yet. Elaine, the instructor, asked us to share what we hope to get out of the class. I’m hoping that this class will . . .
- challenge and encourage me towards fresh creativity
- force help me to become bolder in sharing said creativity
- give my blogging a boost
- help me as a I work on documenting mine and Michael’s first year of marriage
- motivate me to restart my “grateful” journal
The class doesn’t begin until May 1st, so there’s still time for you to sign up if you’re interested. Care to join me?
